Looking for the technical requirements to use Rabbit?
Check out the deets below before hopping into a room, for the best Rabbit experience!
Rabbit for Web
|Chrome||Version 75 or above|
|Firefox||Version 65 or above|
|Opera||Version 56 or above|
The browsers above support the technology we use for audio and video, WebRTC.
They also keep up with the latest changes to WebRTC with each update.
Because of this, Safari and Microsoft Edge are not supported.
Gaming consoles (PS4, Xbox, etc.) are also not supported, as they do not support our technology.
Rabbit for Mobile
|iOS||iOS 10 and above|
|Android||Android OS 4.4 and above|
Just want to text chat? Don't want A/V chat, but will be watching the Rabbitcast in HD?
The internet speeds we require depends on what you're doing inside Rabbit! You'll need at least a 3 Mbps download / 1 Mbps upload connection. If you plan on having multiple A/V streams in your chat, or using the HD setting to watch the Rabbitcast, you'll need a stronger connection.
|Send A/V Chat||1 Mbps upload|
|Receive A/V Chat||0.5 Mbps download per viewer|
|Watch Rabbitcast||3 Mbps download|
Check your connection at speedtest.net
Doing things on your network like downloading files or having multiple people/devices on your network uses a lot of bandwidth, so if your Rabbitcast lags, we recommend stopping other activity on your network.
You'll also need a stable connection. Even if your connection seems stable, you may experience issues with Rabbit if your network drops or is otherwise unstable (often caused by low bandwidth).
Tips to increase your internet speed
- Switch from mobile data to wifi.
- Restart your router (the box your internet plugs into).
- Move closer to your router
- Wire in directly using an ethernet cord
- Close programs on your computer you're not currently using
💡 Tip: A WiFi connection is preferred over cellular data for stability. (Your mobile data connection may fluctuate a lot and not be as stable as WiFi.) And you'll save money on your data plan...
